[edit] Description
This dive site is a popular check-out site for new divers. Carp, bass, and pike can all be seen here and the area near shore is a good place to scavenge for lost knives, weight belts, and other accessories. A tour of this site will find an old bicycle, a training platform, and an old drainage pipe. There is very little current here, making this is an easy dive.
With sufficient gas and training, you can get from here to the Robert Gaskin, as demonstrated in the video below.
[edit] Access
This is a shore dive. There is plenty of place on the lawn to gear up, but bring a tarp to protect your gear and feet from goose shit. Parking can be a problem on busy days. Respect the locals by refraining from loud, profane language, and treat the area with respect (don't litter). Complaints have been reported in the past.
To enter, there is a set of stairs leading into shallow water or you can take a giant stride almost anywhere off the 450' of seawall.
[edit] Hazards
Sailboats (silent but dangerous) sometimes race very close to shore here. Fly a diver's down flag and take care when ascending.
