Wreck usually has 4 moorings marking the spot, plus a navigation marker with signage indicating it is a "heritage site" There is a fee for mooring collected by a local charter operator who maintains the moorings Empress of Ireland measures about 172m (569.8ft) long by 20m (65.5ft) wide The wreck is on its starboard side. A lot of deterioration, most of the upper decks are on the bottom or have been removed by earlier divers / salvors. Empress of Ireland Museum at Pointe au Pare has a great collection and documentation of the sinking

Intanglement, large openings, divers have been known to accidently swim into the wreck, become disoriented, unfortunetly fatallities. Currents generally mild to moderate. Occasionally, extreme, have seen the mooring ball at 20ft at such extreme cases. Water very cold year round. Any hazards associated with diving this site go here
