[edit] Description
This quarry contains a sunken plane (25'), tugboat (40'), mini submarine (60'), conveyor (80'), and two cars (110').
New: The most recent addition to the quarry is a model of a great white shark (40') used during the filming of a television commercial.
Easy access, good facilities, and a convenient picnic area make this a popular spot year-round.
[edit] Access
Wade into the shallow pool by picnic area.
Divers are required to pay a $10 fee per diver to Mrs. Morrison before they dive.
Season pass available for $80.
For ice diving and diving during the evenings, call ahead and ask them to leave the gate open (819 459-3260).
[edit] Hazards
Visibility is variable and can be low during the warmest parts of summer. The water temperature at 110' is a constant 4C (40F) year-round. In the winter, this becomes an ice dive that should only be attempted by those with proper equipment and training.
Always remember the the temperature of the water in the lagoon can be deceiving reaching high 20"s once the weather warms. Always plan for this dive to be your coldest of the summer.
