[edit] Description

This 50' wood and steel work barge was used in the construction of the Saint Lawrence Seaway and was scuttled at this location in the 1950s. There is not much to see here and a visit to the Wee Hawk usually precedes a drift down the Galop Canal.

This site is also mistakenly referred to as the Kitty Hawk.

[edit] Access

This is a shore dive. Park in the parking area at the end of Galop Canal Road, get dressed, and walk with your gear to the entry point.

[edit] Hazards

It is possible to penetrate this wreck and very easy to silt it up. Because of the lack of current this silt takes a long time to settle.
