[edit] Description
This 164' ferry, built in 1946, was deliberately cleaned up and scuttled in 1985 as a diving attraction after it was made redundant by the Wolfe Islander III.
This artificial reef sits perfectly upright and has been cleaned up to make it an interesting and reasonably safe dive. There are a number of items on deck, including a motorcycle, some bowling balls, and a bicycle. All windows have been removed from the upper decks and the wheelhouse, making for lots of interesting swim-throughs.
Penetration of the engine room (below the main deck) is possible, but is a real penetration, and is easily silted. This should be attempted only by appropriately trained, equipped, and experienced divers.
[edit] Access
This is a boat dive, with charters leaving from Kingston.
[edit] Hazards
This is a relatively safe dive spot. Cold and depth are the major dangers.
